Drawing and painting have always been my preferred way of communicating.
Long before I knew how to put certain things into words, I would draw them.
Even today, painting remains a refuge in the storm.
A place where I can put down the things I’m not always able to express.
But this refuge is not always a peaceful one.
Painting is also a struggle with oneself.
With doubts, fears, expectations, and contradictions.
There are days when painting sets me free.
And others when it forces me to confront myself.
I think that’s also why I keep going.
Because deep down, I don’t paint simply to create an image.
I paint to communicate.
To understand.
To search.
And sometimes, simply to keep standing through the storm.
